This thing would be badass. I'd take it of an ST. Absolutely epic if it happens. And comes to the US. What do you guys think? Would you take it over our beloved ST's?

Can anyone say torque steer?
It doesn't need that much power (holy crap, did I just say that?!?), it needs to be lighter and way more nimble, the way an Integra Type R was (oh okay, I don't feel so bad about that first statement then).

I had heard that the new MS3 was getting AWD too to basically fight the Golf R. Good idea, considering the car will be R priced anyway.

Well, I'm a Mazda loyalist (as you can probably see). So I'll definitely be giving this a look-see if/when it is released. Hopefully I have money by then.

It depends on what it looks like. I wasn't a fan of the big grin, the new one is pretty nice looking.

I debated a base 3 hatch along with my FoST. Ultimately, I got into the FoST for less (or darn near equivalent) the price of the 3. I'd have to say a potential Speed3, especially if it's rumored specs are true, will be batting significantly above that. Granted, mine is a ST1, I imagine they'll be more competitively priced against a ST3.

I think up until this car, if it comes out, the ST has been a better buy. Although I find the Mazda more attractive.

I don't think it'll steal many Fiesta ST buyers. They're typically looking for a lighter livelier vehicle. The Focus ST could be in danger if it's priced the same, but I'm guessing the MS3 would start at 30k plus if the specs are real which really puts it in a different category (STI, 370z, Golf R, etc).

It really doesn't compete with the focus st, it competes with the rs. Which is expected to be 320 hp next gen. Sadly I doubt we'll get either.

I checked out Speed3s when I was shopping but I need a nice interior in my car and the 3 along with the WRX have some of the most hideous interiors I've ever seen. I couldn't stand to get into my car everyday and have to deal with those seas of blah.

Not unless you can get it with a sunroof. Lack of that popular feature has been a HUGE problem for the MS3. Without it, the ST wins by default.

Sunroofs are awesome, well worth the slight extra weight.
Besides, there's so much torque and shit that even the tires can't handle it!
